Sister Organizations

History

Over the years, and thanks to the vision and support of the Semnani Family Foundation, multiple sister organizations have been established and are thriving. Because these organizations align so closely with the mission and values of our foundation we are committed to their ongoing success. We are quite pleased with the results we have seen thus far and look forward to the good they will continue to do in the years to come.

Located in Salt Lake City, Utah and established by the Semnani Family Foundation in 2006, the mission of the Maliheh Free Clinic is to provide free, same-day access to high quality urgent medical care for all qualified patients. The clinic was founded with the sole purpose of rescuing those members of our community who are in the most critical need of our help. Hope, respect, fairness, compassion, and professionalism are the hallmarks for this ground-breaking clinic. With guaranteed same-day service, our clinic establishes the gold standard for free medical care with those who need it most yet lack the means for viable healthcare options. Additional services, lab tests, exams, X-rays, and more are donated by partnering universities and health institutions in the community helping to provide better care and drive down costs.

Established in 2021, the Semnani Family Foundation created the One Kind Act a Day initiative because small acts of kindness, when done by many, can lead to tremendous change. At the heart of this vision is the idea that kindness has the power to change our lives and our world for the better.

One Kind Act a Day is intended to inspire and enable people everywhere to commit to one act of kindness every single day. Not only do both the giver and the recipient benefit from daily acts of selflessness—the spirit of generosity has a way of gaining momentum and spreading from one person to another. Call it a chain reaction of kindness.

Our goal is to honor, recognize, and celebrate the inherent good in people, and to cultivate one of the most important gifts of all—our faith in humanity, and our belief in a better, kinder future for all people, all over the world.

Established in 2018 the Utah Muslim Civic League is a 501(c)4 and a 501(c)3 partner organization that empowers the Utah Muslim community to make a difference on the issues that matter to them. By engaging with political representatives, cooperating with partners, and encouraging voters, UMCL ensures that critical Muslim voices can always be at the table. Utah’s young Muslim community requires a strong advocate like UMCL to translate its community interests into reality which is why Khosrow Semnani and the Semnani Family foundation was the catalyst to the creation of this organization. UMCL’s education and engagement strategy seeks to advance the community’s preferences by creating an enduring civic infrastructure for the 60,000 Muslims living in Utah.

Also established by the Semnani Family Foundation in 2017 the Honarmand Foundation is a non-profit organization created to support qualified Iranian Artists. Contributions to Honarmand Foundation’s general fund help pay for an artist’s medical expenses, housing, food, or other vital expenses such as utilities, clothing, transportation, program services, and counseling. Grants typically range from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars per qualifying individual. The foundation provides financial assistance to elderly Iranian artists struggling to make ends meet while facing illness, disability, or age-related problems. It is our hope that in the future the Honarmand Foundation will support other activities to promote Iranian Arts and Culture.
